Why are you tryin' to earn grace?
Why are you cryin'? Let me lift up your face.
Just don't turn away.
Why are you lookin' for love?
Why are you still searchin', as if I'm not enough?
To where will you go, child? Tell me, where will you run?
To where will you run?
'Cause I'll be by your side, wherever you've fallen
The dead of night, whenever you're callin'
Please don't fight these hands that are holdin' you.
My hands are holdin' you.
Look at these hands, and my side.
They swallowed the grave on that night,
When I drank the world's sin so I could carry you in
And give you life... I wanna give you life.
And I'll be by your side, wherever you've fallen,
The dead of night, whenever you're callin'.
Please don't fight these hands that are holdin' you.
My hands are holdin' you.
Here in my side, wherever you've fallen,
The dead of night, whenever you're callin'.
Please don't fight these hands that are holdin' you.
'Cause I, yeah I love you. I want you to know
That I, yeah I love you. I'll never let you go.
And I'll be by your side, wherever you've fallen,
The dead of night, whenever you're callin'.
Please don't fight these hands that are holding you.
My hands are holdin' you.
Here in my side, wherever you've fallen,
The dead of night, whenever you're callin'.
Please don't fight these hands that are holdin' you.
My hands are holdin' you.
Here in my side, my hands are holdin' you.
It's so important for me to listen to music with positive lyrics. I tend to internalize the words I'm hearing. That's not an uncommon thing, since music bypasses the frontal lobe (which makes our judgment and moral calls) and goes right into the brain without passing through a metaphorical metal detector for dangerous stuff.
